Altadena’s latest acquisition, A Necessary Death, picks up AFI FEST Audience Award

Altadena Films takes on international rights to A Necessary Death, winner of the 2008 AFI FEST Audience Award.  Previous winners of this prestigious award include The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Tsotsi, Hotel Rwanda and City of God.

A Necessary Death, a provocative feature written and directed by Daniel Stamm, documents the tragedy that results when a group of film school students decide that their graduation film should  follow “a suicidal individual” during their final days and so post an advertisement on the internet.  Gilbert John, Matt Tilley and Valerie Hurt deliver first rate performances.  Daniel’s previous credits include a documentary on rock musician Nick Cave.
