We are proud to present our new film "Fighting Fish". Annette Apitz's feature-film directorial debut. The talented cast includes Val Emmich ("Ugly Betty"), Halley Feiffer ("The Messenger," “Gentlemen Broncos”), Anna Moore ("The Life Before her Eyes"), and Haviland Morris. Three of Val Emmich's songs are on the film's soundtrack. Other soundtrack artists who supported this project include Elf Power, Imperial Teen, Chris Trapper, KaiserCartel, and Mark McAdams. "Fighting Fish" is about a brother and a sister in their early twenties who must overcome their tempestuous past in order to find true love and have a chance at real happiness. 21-year-old David still lives at home in upstate New York, caring for his small siblings while his mother recuperates in a mental institution. Though he aches to leave and find his own way in life, he also feels responsible to his family. His wild, complicated, and beautiful sister Alice suddenly returns home after a long absence, and new domestic tensions erupt. When David falls in love with the new girl in town, Chris, Alice is driven to desperate measures to keep her brother close, and her world intact.

Set in the 19th Century Canadian prairie, Maggie McGregor and younger sister Rose endure the harsh labour of running their farm. Since the death of their parents, Maggie's has brought up surviving by living off the land. Sheltered by Maggie, Rose, just 14, maintains innocence of youth. When a charming but mysterious stranger, David LaTouche, arrives at their isolated farm the sisters'lives are forever changed. Overriding Maggie's objections with his charm, David is permitted to stay. Questions emerge about David's past and his intentions.

Written and directed by Kris McManus, and produced by Brian Levine, the film stars Charley Boorman (Long Way Round), and Dean Jagger (The Killing Truth). The story centers around four thirty-something guys who set out on their motorcycles, clocking up miles in an attempt to outrun their age and their middle-class lifestyles. After setting up camp and reminiscing over their wasted youth, the guys discover an ominous looking caravan parked nearby. Within minutes, an idiotic prank turns into kidnapping, frightening brutality and a race for survival. This not only poses a number of moral dilemmas but makes us question who the bad guys really are.
